# License ## Data license Five of the six CNeuroMod subjects (`sub-01`, `sub-02`, `sub-03`, `sub-05` and `sub-06`) have chosen to openly share their data. This data is distributed under a [CC0 license](https://creativecommons.org/share-your-work/public-domain/cc0/) — it is dedicated to the public domain and may be reused, including for commercial purposes, without asking permission. Data from `sub-04` is **not openly licensed**. It remains available to researchers, but only through a signed inter-institutional Data Transfer Agreement (DTA) — see [Access](access) for the request process. Copyrighted stimuli used in some experimental paradigms (e.g. movies, video games, audiobooks) are an exception to CC0: the data recorded *from* participants remains CC0, but the third-party stimulus material itself remains under its original copyright. See the README of each dataset for stimulus-specific details. The `floc` dataset's face/place/object localizer images are tracked from the [VPNL/fLoc](https://github.com/VPNL/fLoc) stimulus set, which does not itself carry a license. Their reuse terms are therefore currently unclear; an issue has been opened upstream to clarify licensing, and this page will be updated once that is resolved. ## Third-party assets used under fair use or other licenses The documentation site itself also carries a small number of third-party assets that are not CNeuroMod data and are not covered by the CC0 grant above. Each is used under its own license or a fair-use rationale, tracked individually below. As more third-party assets are added to the site, they should be listed here with their source, author and license details. ### Dataset gallery artwork The cover images on the [landing-page dataset gallery](../index) (e.g. movie/book covers standing in for stimulus material, or illustrative artwork for datasets without stimulus cover art). Each dataset page links back to its image's entry below from the credit line under its gallery tile. _image_licenses_placeholder_
